Fire on the Mountain……

…..And across the plains, of Oklahoma, that is…… I don’t know for sure if I’m responsible for the recent firestorms that are raging across Oklahoma or not, but I made a post on the 13th of October – Weather or Not? about all the weird weather that was happening around the world and the possible causes….. Well, since that post, the state of Oklahoma has received but a few drops of moisture and now we’re facing the worst outbreak of wildfires ever with no relief in the foreseeable future…… As a matter-of-fact, tomorrow (07JAN06) is rated as a “Level 5” fire ban day….. The top of the scale…… I don’t know if “the Big Guy in the Sky and/or Mother Nature” didn’t care for my comments or if it’s just a “Coincidence of Consequence“…… Whatta ya think?…..
Anyone else have any abnormal weather stories to relate or debate?…… Oh, yeah, this year’s Blog user dues should be paid in “gallons of water” delivered, preferably by air mail, to any location inside the state line…… (Just in case someone misreads this and starts calling me names and complains – There are no Blog user dues – just a little “HOT” humor)……. If you visit Oklahoma anytime soon, bring your own hot dogs, marshmallows, and fire-fighting equipment…….

Gee, I don’t know…is it possible our fearless “leader” could be all wrong about this
    global warming thing ?

  2. You are talking about that other “fearless leader“, aren’t you, Rocky Randalf, because this “Fearless Leader” of the blog (MR Bullwinkle)has “nothin’ up my sleeve”….

  3. I mailed you a wet sponge today in partial payment on dues. We can afford it.

  4. I paid on an off ramp on I-35 Exit 70 NB last night, Hey every little bit counts!.

  5. We stole your rain up here in Seattle — today’s our 23rd consecutive day of rain with the forecast showing no letup for at least the next five days. The record here is 33 consecutive days of rain.

And a belated Happy New Year to all of you! I’ve been lurking lately, I know — I’ll try to participate a little more often.

    Cheers!

This whole “Fire on the Mountain” thing hit a little too close to home this last weekend. We had a fire
raging in Mauricio Canyon two ridges (or about 10 miles) southeast of us. Sunday evening, Robin and I
were starting to make evacuation plans. But monday morning we woke up to seven inches of new snow, and
the firefighters had gone into “mop-up” mode. WHEW !

  7. Sorry about that, RTG, I just picked the song title “Fire on the Mountain” because it kind of stuck in my head as we did a version of this “Marshall Tucker Band” classic in one incarnation of a certain band I was once in….. Since Oklahoma doesn’t have mountains (“Hills of Oklahoma“,a very old C&W song), I really didn’t expect the fires in Oklahoma to head for the mountains in Colorado….. Again, sorry, I saw on the news that they were having serious fires around the Denver area in Arvada, Colorado with rotating winds up to 60 mph…. Whew, that’s Bad-d-d news, and then we have TTop tellin’ us that Seattle is about to float away….. What was that first comment by RTG?…. Something about “Global Warming“…. Is it time to heed “Chicken Little’s” doom and gloom statement,”The Sky is Falling, The Sky is Falling“?….. Na-ah, just be prepared to duck on occasion…..
