Oh, How The Mighty Have Fallen…..
Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, it’s back to stinkin’ work I go….. Yep, I’m rejoining the work force of America….. Got offered a job I couldn’t refuse…… I guess money does talk in some cases….. Supposed to be a nice cushy office gig with my own office…… Hopefully, it will turn out to be as good as sounds….. Tomorrow morning will come early and start the adventure…… Updates to follow on my survival…… Any tips on enduring an almost all-day office environment (some jobsite work is involved), such as how to make the day go faster, would be welcome……

Oh, Man, I forgot how many things can get screwed-up in a mere eight hours on the job….. Tomorrow I’ll start straightening it all out…… Shouldn’t take more than a week or so….. Of course, if tomorrow turns out to be like today things could get really complicated….. Hm-m-m, maybe I should take a vacation….. Yeah…..

Congrats on your new job. You can handle any challenges thrown your way. I’m sure everyone here at MRC wishes you well.!
As for advice… make sure that is today’s coffee in the pot and not yesterday’s. Yuck!

I’m doing commercial and Federal construction estimating….. The latest thing is you can download the plans and specs off of a website…… You don’t have to go to a plan room or the architect’s office and work there….. It always seems that you forget some detail and have to make a trip back or end-up paying a huge deposit to get a copy of the plans and specs in order to have them at your office….. You can do it in the comfort of your own private office or home and spend all the time necessary to make sure you don’t miss something that might cost you if you get the contract by being the low bidder…..

Well, I survived the first week and this week-end has flown by with me trying to catch-up on all the things I was too tired to do after work…. It’s time now to get ready for week 2, but I’m getting used to the old daily grind a little better, and I’ll see if it’s all worth it when I get my first paycheck next Friday….. That’s when I’ll see how well Uncle Sam likes my employment…….
