Did you see the gold-plated coffin?….. The “Apollo Theatre” recordings were the first I heard from JB and I think they pushed him into the limelight….. Pretty cool that he “returned” to “The Apollo” one last time……

What did you think about the funeral procession thru harlem to the Apollo? Looked straight out of New Orleans complete down to the horse drawn hearse. The Coffin was spectacular, Only the best for “The Godfather” of Soul. I’m with you those apollo recordings I feel were some of JB’s best works.

“The Hardest Working Man in Show Business”. I can attest to that having seen him a couple of times in the sixties. MR, I believe I own
the Live At The Apollo on vinyl. Will probably have to dig it out of the archives.
