Joule (MKS; N m or kg m2/s2)
erg (CGS; g cm2/s2)
And ugh, the English units:
foot-pound (but not pound-foot, which is the unit for torque)
And I guess BTU, though I’d rather not consider that one.

Oh, calorie and kilocalorie would work, I guess.
Joules are the best.

Darn, HS beat me to it. Do I get any points for claiming that I would have answered Joule on my own?

“Foot Pound” is what I was after. (another “foot” quiz) No points for Joule. Five points for HS (who the hell is a Joule?)
I threw in a science quiz to see if anyone was out there.
HS…..17 total points
JEK……0 total points
Zook…10
Sunn…5
Randalf…37.5
MR……7 points minus 5 points is plus 2 total points. You’re not working hard enough. You’re still in the plus column.

One more guess? How about, planned obsolescence?

Because you’d like to foot pound that machine to scrap after it failed you at a critical time?
