Snobbery……
I want to be a SNOB!….. I thought about being a wine or beer snob, but I’m not a drinker….. One or two drinks and I’m asleep….. That leaves COFFEE!….. I love caffeine anyway…. I want to be able to do 14 months work in 30 seconds (old Dave Gardner joke)!….. My problem is I don’t know Beans about Coffee….. I need help and guidance in the proper steps to become “Snobbish” (funny, he doesn’t look “Snobbish”!)….. Are there special exercises for the taste buds?….. A mail correspondence course?….. Tutors?….. Coffee Snob organizations?….. I know I’m facing an up-hill climb as I like a little coffee (any brand) with my Splenda and Coffemate….. I’m looking to attain ultimate “Snobdom” with a little help from my friends…..

You might read through this blog: http://tonx.org/
Tony used to be the head roaster at Victrola up here in Seattle. He’s definitely a coffee snob you can emulate, although as his last entry illustrate, becoming a coffee snob is not without its problems.

With all the friends you have here in Seattle you should have no trouble becoming a coffee snob….a “double tall snob”.

Ehhhh. Ditch the dirt water and head for the imported cheeses and snobby olive oils.
(I do like coffee as a foil for chocolate, and Greek/Turkish coffee.)

That’s a “Double Tall Mocha” snob, Anon….. Zook, at first glance, I read Tony’s blog address, “tonx.org” as “toxic.org” and thought, “What!… wait a minute”…. Maybe my subconscious is telling me to stay away from the “dirt water” as HS says, but I can’t see myself eating smelly cheese and rolling around in olive oil…… I’m going to check out Tony’s blog site and then decide to forge-on or not….. Where did I put my cup of java?……

A 2.5 from the west german judge. That is one of the things that is quite lacking out there now days is a great cup of joe. The best that we can hope for is running across a *buks that we can get in and out of. as for regular stops the best I have found is if they use Folgers.
