The Band, Jake, The Band……
Since HS was asking about, “Where’s my Strat”, I thought I would post this shot taken during a band practice at my house, which was before we found a practice studio and I traded the Twin in for a Dual Showman……
I paid $260 for the brand-new Made in the USA Strat in ’72…… American made was all they offered back then….. The “StratoBlaster” pre-amp provided signal boost at the flip of a switch, The “Hawk II” equalizer was great….. You could emulate lots of different guitars with it…… I used the “Pignose” for adjustable distortion…… The whole rig seemed to work great for the time… I still have all of it except the guitar and amp….. Oh yeah, I even have a few of the “Terraplane” Iron-ons left….. I’ll save a close-up of the logo for another post and explain why I’m irritated with Joe Walsh(the thief)!
….And, I did not forget the song I promised in the last band post…… Here it is:Bungle In The Jungle
Check the previous post The Band, Elwood, The Band….. for details on how it was recorded, then take a listen and let me know what you think…… Yes, I know I’m asking for it…… BTW, this Sunday, the 26th of August, marks the 32nd anniversary of this recording….. Man, where does the time go????……

Who is that Jek look alike with the Terra plane t-shirt. Nice clean recording of Bungle was that a live or a studio recording?

Thanx for the download, I can now listen to some T-Plane in my own home.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, you guys were……….PHENOMENAL. GREAT. I have worked with several bands and I always held them up to the standards that you guys set ever since I heard the original tapes during the early years of my association with MR. I wish I could have been there for all the “fun” but hearing it all now…WOW.
I hope that the remaining members can somehow manage to get together and do something in the near future, and I hope that I can be just a small part of it, (Even if it’s just sitting in the corner) I only can dream of playing with such talented musicians in my career.I think Donald “Duck” Dunn said it best in the Blues Brothers. “We had a sound powerful enough to turn Goat Piss into Gasoline”

J., you can tell by how much is gone out of the bottle (Not much) that I was probably ready to take a nap….. Spirits + MR = Nappy time…..
I don’t know who you are insulting most, LSD – Jek or MR…… We’ll have to put it to a vote…… If you will read the rest of the post directing you to the previous post, you would have found out it was, in fact, live and uncut……

Ha! In that photo I think MR looks like Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree.

Thanks Jek, I really didn’t want the word out that I had another gig……. As soon as I start giving out free tickets and back-stage passes to this group, they’ll kick me out……

Funny. As MR was fixing my sticky key, that 0 my pc was gunked, I played him one of my friends version of a PorcupineTree tune thinking and saying, this may bore you, but as he sang along. I knew it hadn’t. There is a resemblance, Jek.
I do so adore being surprised by people.
