Are We There Yet?….
….At the lowest, possible bottom of the barrel……. I just witnessed a TV commercial touting cat food….. The music and related graphics were “Hello Goodbye”…… Can we go much lower?….. Thank you, MJ…… You big Jerk…..

Too sad to think about.

I thought that was a Target commercial. Truly painful.

I haven’t seen the Target one, but, this one was definitely a cat commercial…… You have a cat walking up to a food dish with a big “Hello” sync’d with the music in the background….. Cat turns up his nose, walks away with a big “Goodbye” again sync’d to the music….. Ends on a big “Hello” while the cat munches down on the sponsor’s product….. I was so irritated, I don’t even remember what brand it was…..

Target is going crazy with that song. They have several different commercials using it.

Along that same line…I saw an advertisement for a movie due out later this month called “Across the Universe.” Can you guess who’s music (although none of it that I heard were originals) makes up the soundtrack?
Flashback to the Bee Gees and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

It saddens me to hear our generations music used to peddle everything from cat food (If KC had been more commercial, I’m sure the song Cat Food from Wake of Poseidon would have been used), to automobiles. The music of our generation changed music forever. It’s deserves a better fate.
I’d venture to say that there’s nothing that originated in our generation that has been original since. Just ask MR, we had something that had never been done before almost monthly for about three years. Beatles, Hendrix, Winter, Doors, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Zappa, Blood, Sweat & Tears (I could go on, but you get the point.

It’s sad that our laws allow such money-mongers to gain control of artistic property……. At least MJ can’t sell out the actual Beatles versions of their music….. Hopefully, Neil will protect his copyrights or he may be singing for the man even if he doesn’t want to….. That’s what happened to the Beatles catalog……. (Insert your favorite Beatle song here)…….

This morning Chase Bank hit the “Stones” on a TV commercial…… “I’m Free” – one of the older “Stones” songs….. Again, not the original, so we can probably thank Andrew Loog Oldham, or maybe even Allen Klein, who had his hands in both the “Stones” and the “Beatles” business affairs…… Money talks and the fans get screwed…… (Insert your favorite Stones song here)….

I heard that one almost a year ago on radio first, now I see it’s on the tube. The one thing that got me was the very poor Mick sound alike. I would be more apt to tag Klein for that one. We all know what he did to our heroes J,P,G,&R.

I understand your points. But hey now we can stand to be in an elevator. Wish there was a better up side.

The last few hotel elevators I’ve been on now have a video screen showing CNN 24-7, fed to us live by our propaganda machine.
