On #1, I’m going to give HuskySooner One-Quarter (.25) Point – Yes, it’s less dense than water, but, I was looking more for the why, which, J.J. mostly furnished…. I am giving J.J. the remaining Three-Quarters (.75) Point on #1. Here’s the story – Too much air – originally an error in production. In 1878, Harley Procter and cousin James Gamble decided to create for their company a white soap that would rival the popular castile soaps of their competitors. The product was successful. Then, in 1879, a worker mistakenly allowed the soap solution to be overmixed. The new version of the soap was an immediate success because it bobbed to the surface of the water. Q#1 answered….
#2 – J.J. gets One-Half (.5) Point for Namco Limited of Japan, a producer of video games and computer software…. The other Half (.5) Point is for the name of the 27 year old inventor of P-M who worked for Namco… Jek, Pac-Man Master, where are you? Q#2 – half answered……
#3 – J.J.’s on a roll. Another One (1) Point awarded – The Apache leader (1829-1908) was known to his tribe as Goyathlay, meaning “One Who Yawns”. The nickname Geronimo is probably a corruption of the Spanish name Jeronimo. Q#3 answered….
#4 – HuskySooner gets the One (1) Point for this one – Acute appendicitis overcame the former Erich Weiss on 10/31/1926 – Halloween. He was 52 years old. Q#4 answered…..
#5 – Good guess, J., but wrong – No Points…..
#6 – One (1) more for the J. – Bananas first grew in tropical Asia and were eaten by the ancient Greeks and Romans. Banana plants were transported from the Canary Islands off NW Africa to the Americas soon after the New World was discovered. Q#6 answered…
#7 – Wrong, J.J. – No Points…..
#8 – Funny, J.-Peanut, but, wrong x three – No Points…..
#9 – HuskySooner gets the One (1) Point here – Angora is harvested from a domesticated rabbit of the same name. The wool is white, black, blue, or fawn. The rabbits are sheared every three months; each one yields about 12 ounces of wool annually. The rabbits first appeared in the eighteenth century in France. Q#9 answered……
…And, I thought this Quiz was going to be hard….. Points still available on Questions #2, #5, #7 and #8….. Too early for hints yet……

1. Snopes says it wasn’t error/happenstance:

The way I read the snopes article is that P&G keep changing the story themselves….. I want to know how they got away with claiming it is “99.44/100% pure”, which they were allowed to trademark, when, by their own documentation, shows it to contain 56/100% of non-soap ingredients….. I love big business…..

#7 I’m Sticking with my answer According to the Encyclopedia Britannica Circa 1974 “Coffee was first consumed in the 9th Century when it was discovered in “Ethiopia” ” I’m sure that is not what your “Medium Sized” Book says but thats what I dug up. so there.

#2 According to the book “The Ultimate History of Video games” By Steven L. Kent Circa 2001 Toru Iwatni Is listed as designer, and Hideyuki Mokajima San Is listed as the Programmer.
#8 Arranged, Same Sex Union, Common Law, Open, Polygamy.
#5 First Let me explain how I found this answer. I first attributed this Quote to Roger Waters, Because of his references to Worms in “The Wall” I found that he attributed that reference to Sir Winston Churchill Referring to all the time that Londoners spent below ground during the Blitz. I do not know in what text or speech it comes from but I’m Guessing The Right Honourable Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill KG,OM,CH,TD,FRS,PC

Luckily for the J-Man, I’ve been away from the Community for a few days, so, he had the chance to sneak-in these last answers just under the wire. I was going to give the remaining answers today, which I will, after I award J.J. some more points…..
#2 – J. gets the other One-Half (.5) Point, although my source shows his first name as “Turn”, which didn’t sound too Japanese to me when I read it……
#5 – Another One (1) Point earned. Good work, Sherlock J. It was Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
#7 – I’m going to give you the One (1) Point on a “discovery basis”. My source answer is as follows: Arabian philosopher and physician Avicenna introduced coffee as a beverage about A.D. 1000. He called the drink “brunc”; he believed it to be useful as a medicinal tonic. Not until about the 16th century did coffee become accepted as a social beverage in Arabia and Persia.
#8 – Although your spelling is a little different, you got one of them, J., hence One (1) Point awarded. Answer: There are four: monogamy, polygyny, polyandry, and group marriage. “Monogamy” is one wife, one husband. “Polygyny” is one husband, several wives. “Polyandry” is one wife, several husbands. “Group Marriage” is several wives, several husbands. Group marriage is by far the rarest and has never been the prevailing form of marriage in any known society…. I guess they don’t consider “same sex” as a form of marriage….
That’s it for this Quiz – Update and new Quiz soon……..
