I have it on good in-tell that our leader is working an a make gift and maybe unavailable for some time unknown. Either that our he and PDB or staking out some corrupt government office (if you find one that isn’t let me know).
Eric Woolfson, who has died aged 64, helped to create the best-selling Seventies rock concept band The Alan Parsons Project (APP) which released 10 albums and sold some 45 million copies.
Yeah It seems that Sunn missed this one. Thanx HS for keeping up with the going ons in the rock world. I must admit the Alan Parsons Project is one of my absolute favorites. “Turn” is one of the best. Although it is one of the most commericial I Robot is one of my essential albums.
I actually did comment. I guess it didn’t get posted.
Alan Parsons produced “Dark Side of the Moon”, at a very young age. I believe that to be his greatest contribution to rock music.
I think the APP was more of a studio band, which sounded like a watered down Pink Floyd. Just my opinion.
HS: Thanks for the video link. I’ve never seen that before. It’s kinda funny to watch Alan Parsons running around. My guess is that the android is Eric Woolfson.
Sunn, I think that short-changes Parson’s contributions. There’s no doubt that he had a big impact on Dark Side, but there are APP songs I couldn’t live without; though I doubt we’d have APP without Dark Side.
jek, what I was getting at is this:
Very listenable AOR.
However, his studio wizardry far exceeded
the groups musicianship.
But, what the hell does this old rocker know?
Although “Tales…” was pretty original, as was an entire album devoted to gambling, APP was certainly not as innovative as Floyd. Some of the music strikes me just right, though.

That brings back some repressed hazy memories. You’re right Ian Bairnson’s guitar is a good solo, I always enjoyed the bass run in that song.
