Seattle MR Community!…..
Boy, are you on my S-List!…… Â I have to hear on my local Oklahoma news that the 50th Anniversary of the Space Needle in Seattle was when?….. Â YESTERDAY!….. Â When do I arrive in Seattle?….. Â THIS TUESDAY!…. Â Did I miss this event?….. Â DUH!….. Â I hope you like standing in the corner for a few hours, although, PD Bob had some much more creative ideas for punishment, but, the recovery time was unacceptable……
I’m sure it was considered as “just another day” with all the activities going on in Seattle all the time, but, I think it would have been really cool to have been present for this one…..  I still want to check it out and get a commemorative  button or something for the BIG EVENT that I MISSED by three days…..  I’m not really that MAD – Just jumped at the opportunity  to pick on the Seattle branch of the MR Community…..

You guys and gals up there gotta remember that all we have in OKC is the Federal Building Memorial, a bunch of old warehouses, and a concrete ditch. So we don’t have any real attractions to take for granted.

I don’t think there was a big event. Tarn and I happened to be at Seattle Center Saturday for a ballet (don’t go to many of those) and the place seemed more crowded than usual on a sunny weekend day. There was no obvious solitary event. Anyway, the World’s Fair went on for months, so I expect the 50th celebration will go on for months as well.
@JJ Isn’t there a “Space Needle” at the Oklahoma fairgrounds… with a monorail too?

They’re painting it GOLD!….. boy, that outta stick out like a sore thumb….. Not to take away from Mr. J., but, yes, we do have a so-called “Space Needle” at the fairgrounds, and, they do call it “The Space Needle”….. It no longer works – as in being able to ride to the top (about 3 stories max) – and, compared to the one in Seattle, it’s about the size of a sewing machine needle!…… We also have an Inter-National airport that only has one out of country flight to Mexico!….. We’re just a huge, bustling Metropolis here (Ha!)…..

Oh, Yeah, if you two (Anon and Jek) think that by downplaying the Anniversary of The Space Needle and soft-soaping me about missing the event will keep you from “Standing in the Corner”, Ah, Well, I’ll think about it on plane….. Anon, you did earn a few points on “The Noodle” reference…. Never thought of it that way before – Now, it seems it should be named “The Space Noodle”….. Pasta La Seattle….. Yeah!……

Well I guess we all missed the opening of the new Sky Dance Bridge. Other OKC attractions include the omniplex, Frontier City, The Cowboy Hall of Fame, and I save the best for last Braum’s. 😉

MR is on his way he cleared customs at OKC’s fabulous international airport and will be arriving in Seattle sometime around midnight OKC time.
J.J, Jek going to the ballet is almost as bad as Jek going hiking
I have seen Jek drive to the mail box. A fifty foot trip.

Ha, Ha, Anon, I eluded Immigration and am now in Seattle and looking for YOU!….. It won’t do you any good not answering your phone, I KNOW where you live…… I am going to visit Jimi today and wondered if you might want to go along?… If I don’t catch you on the phone – Call me at Jek’s before 10 am, or all bets are off, I’ll be on my way to Greenwood Cemetery in Renton….
Robo, you have to give Jek a Break….. He only drove to mailbox at his Grandma and Grandpa’s….. It was 1/4 mile long driveway…..

On one occasion Jek drove the Hemi from your garage to the mail box on Juniper Ave. – that’s a 20 foot trip – One Way. My point was love conquers all.

No, Robo, Jek didn’t “drive” the Hemi car 20 feet to the mailbox – He burned the back tires off – 20 feet backward – 20 feet forward….. It took thirty minutes for the smoke cloud to clear, and, YES, Anon, you threw the door open…… Actually, the truth is really being abused, but, it makes a terrific story of legendary proportions….. Enjoy them Jek – PD Bob’s getting jealous….

Would have been a nice trick seeing as how the mailbox on Juniper was on the Front porch next to the door. But MR is right, I drove up about 20 minutes later and the smoke cloud could still be seen from 10th St.
Anon: When are you gonna learn, Unless you have ordered a Pizza, Do Not Open the door!! Don’t you watch horror movies?

S-o-o-o, Mr. Smarty Pants, He burned out of the driveway backwards, pulled a 180 into the front yard, slammed on the brakes…. This puts the driver’s side door nearest the mailbox on the porch….. Gets out, checks the mail….. Gets back in, burns another 180 across the grass and back on the driveway returning the Hemi to it’s original position, and, feeling his way through all the smoke, re-enters the house via the garage door….. Did that take it around Venus or not?……

You never told me the whole story bout that one. All you told me was bout the burnouts. Didn”t know bout the Mail check. I knew bout 63rd not Juniper. All I remember was when I got there you were just shaking your head and Little Do Head was setting in front of the Commodore Like ” What, Who Me?” with this slight S*#t eating smile. By the way, How’s Jimi? Did you and Anon pay your respects yesterday?
