Jim Marshall – R.I.P.
On April 5th, 2012, the Music World lost one of it’s most famous people….. Â Not for being a musician, but for the creation in his garage of one of the most famous line of guitar amps known….. Â Made even more famous by it’s use by Seattle’s own Jimi Hendrix…. Â Again, we have to say goodbye to someone who will be sorely missed….. Â Jim Marshall – Rest In Peace…… Â You will be remembered forever by all musicians…..

Yeah I missed posting that one. He was one of the great pioneers of modern sound. Together with Les Paul, I could not imagine rock and roll without them. I have always thought it ironic that when Al changed Jimi’s name in 1946 it was to James Marshall. Karma, Kismet, seeing into the future?

I can’t believe that I had never made the connection between Jimi’s middle name and the amps he used….. Thanks, J…. I wonder if the Marshall name influenced his decision to go with them?…… I’m going to research some of my Hendrix books…. There are some sections in them that discuss his equipment and all the modifications made to them in detail…..
