Yep, that about sums up the accuracy of our Oklahoma Weather forecasters…… I really hate to say that about them, but, they just won’t admit that it’s nearly impossible to predict Oklahoma weather since we’re just a big flat spot in the middle of the United States….. The fronts and all that jazz can come and go, stop, slow down, speed up, do whatever they want, we have no natural land features that are capable of affecting their movements…..

You all show up well in spy photos standing there in a flat spot.

Yeah, Anon, and with the Earthquakes, we’re sinking lower by the minute (Ha!)…… Oh yeah, we’re having “Thunder Sleet” right now….. That’s the term they’re using….. It’s just like a Thunderstorm but you get sleet falling instead of rain….. We’re got a good chance of beating the all time low of 3 degrees tonight, and, just imagine, it was it the 60’s a little over 36 hours ago….. Only in Oklahoma…..

FWIW, the models have not done a good job on this system. The NWS expresses in their forecast discussions how certain or uncertain they are, but the TV stations tend not to do that as much.

HS, the local weather forecasters here love scaring the hell out of people. They especially enjoy tormenting MR. Haha

They do annoy me, Raj, that’s for sure….. I mainly watch the local station KFOR-TV, channel 4.1 Air DTV because they usually predict the worst case scenario….. I call it the “Doom and Gloom” forecast….. That way, when it turns out to be not as severe as predicted I’m happy….. HS and Jek know who I’m talking about – Mr. Mike “Dress in Layers” Morgan (Ha!)…. Today, we broke the all-time low record (3 degrees) everywhere around the OKC area, EXCEPT, at the airport, which is where the official records are recorded….. They show the temp as 5 degrees….. It weird, the airport is always warmer in the Winter and cooler in the Summer than anyplace around it…. I think they need to adjust their equipment or move the reporting station to another location…..
