One More Request…..
Anon’s been giving me some flack over wanting to here some more of our new stuff….. Â So-o-o, here’s the compromise that I came up with…… Â I wanted to put up “Rainy Day Women #12&35” that Weldon had done such a spectacular job of Editing/Mastering, but, the problem was that the AIFF Audio File was 102.6 MB, much too large for the Blog, so, here’s what I did, with apologies to Weldon…… Â I used iTunes to create an MPEG Audio File of the song (No, I did not replace/destroy the AIFF File), which, if you can believe it is only 9.3 Â MB – 93.3 MB smaller than Weldon’s excellent version….. Â This fits in with Neil Young’s “Pono” theory on just how much we’re not hearing these days…… Â The MPEG version is passible and I’m including it in this Post, mainly to quiet down Anon and let HuskySooner hear it along with the rest of the MR Community…… Â And, I’m sort of proud of how it turned out myself (Is that being self-important or not?)…..
This will probably be the first cut on my first solo album (MRambler & Friends) with the album title of, “We’re All JoJo’s on This Bus”….. Â MR (me) played the Single-String rhythm guitar, Slide Guitar, Lead Guitar, Harp, and Backing Vocals….. Â Raj (our new MR Central member and life-long friend) played a second strumming rhythm guitar, Hofner Bass (Best Bass Player EVER!), Keyboard Trombone, and sang the Lead Vocals and Extra Backing Vocals….. Â We used a Drum Machine for the Drum parts, so, it was just the two of us multi-tracked….. Â Again, our thanks to Weldon DeBusk of Seattle, a friend of Jek’s and Anon’s, for wanting to even attempt the long, tedious job of mixing/mastering the work of a couple of JoJo’s like us….. Â Just remember, when this comes out, it might just be on Neil’s “Pono” system in the quality it should be heard in…… Â I’ve got 10 originals ready to start recording and tons of notes and odds and ends of verses that I’ve written over the last 30 years or so to work from, so, the rest of the album will be all originals written by me and, “With A LOT of help from My Dear Friends”, it just might be a reality sometime in the future – No. 1 with a bullet (You never can tell…. eh?)……
Yes, Reviews, Comments, Smart-Ass Remarks are hereby requested from the MR Community….. Â Just remember, “You have to be insane to stay sane in the World of today” (MR quote)……
Oh, Yeah – Here’s the, unfortunately, low resolution of Weldon’s Super “Ozone” mix of RDW….. Â It really doesn’t sound that bad even at the low MPEG quality….. Â Hope you enjoy it and give me some feedback…. Â Please and Thank You!….

Nice job, Weldon!

It really is great, isn’t it, especially considering that what you’re hearing is an MP3 file – 9.3 MB, which is TEN (YES – 10) times smaller in size (informational data) than the file Weldon sent to me (AIFF file – 102.6 MB)….. Hopefully I can get that version out for everyone to hear, somehow, someday…. It’s in the fantastic range!….. He made me and Raj sound like we might actually have some talent (Ha!)….. Great JOb, Weldon, and Thanks……

Look for a “Welcome Post” For Weldon – Excuse me, here after to be known as “Shadowgraph” – He’s decided to join the Looney Bin World of MR Central…… Can’t say if it was a smart thing to do, but, welcome, and I’m looking forward working with Shadowgraph on more of our recordings… May it be beneficial and rewarding to all concerned, BUT, most of all, FUN! – If it’s not fun – Why beat your head against the wall and keep on pushing – Don’t get me wrong – Fun does have a very hard work factor, but, if you LOVE what you’re doing, you don’t even notice it….. (Did I live up to my name (MRambler)?…. Did I Ramble enough?….. Don’t answer because I know the answer (Ha!)…

Nicely done.

Well, it’s about as concise as you can get, HS, but, I’ll take it as a compliment….. Got more comin’ – Maybe you can add “Very” to the nicely done next time (Ha!)….. Seriously, maybe, hopefully, one of the times that you make it to the OKC area, we can get together and jam….. Just give me a call and we can set it up….. We have a complete studio….. Raj has a large collection of Basses and Bass Amps, so, you won’t even need to bring any equipment….. We have plenty of Guitars and Keyboards too – So, just show up and pick your poison…. It’ll be Fun…

Well, the performances are good and the production is nice (everything has its own sonic place). Just not a Dylan fan…

I’m not that big of a Dylan follower either….. We thought this one was kind of fun to do, built totally on the standard blues turn-around….. So, even though Dylan wrote it, it could have been written by any Blues player, hence our addition of a slide solo and the extended “Hendrix” sounding (I hope) long play-out solo at the end….. The harp solo was sort of the Dylanese type to stay in context…..
