By Request (Somewhat)…..
HuskySooner requested to hear some of the new music that I’ve been working on with the bands I’m working with…… Â I was going to upload “Rainy Day Women 12 & 35”, that’s going to be on my solo album, but, the Super mastered version that was mastered by Weldon of Seattle (He’s the MAN!) that I wanted to upload was too big of a file….. Â I don’t want to upload my rough mix because Weldon’s mix blows it away by Miles and Miles., So-o-o, I’m giving you a track from “Eddie and the Kelvinators”, which is MR (me), Raj (our new MR member and life-long friend) and an another old friend from way back that we call EC (Eddie)….. Â The cut is a song from the group “Free” called “Soon I Will Be Gone”…… Â Take a listen and give us a review – REMEMBER, this is a rough, quick mix, but, I think you’ll enjoy it….. Â Here goes:

We’ll take that as a compliment, Mr. J…….

I better check in with Weldon. Didn’t know he was working on your stuff.

Weldon’s great….. Like I said, I’d love to upload his super master he did on “Rainy Day Women 12&35”, but, the file’s too big for the Blog…. You’ll just have to wait until the album comes out and BUY IT (Ha!)…. Naw, I’ll send you a free copy, Anon…..

To hell with the free copy, Anon. “We’re Only In It For The Money”.
Nah, you get a free one. That’s the only way we can get rid of them.haha

Let’s not forget, Raj, that all donations are appreciated and accepted (Ha!)….. AND, What’s the Deal?….. I asked for a review of the track….. Is it that bad that everyone is just sort of commenting around it?….. I don’t know if I really want to know, but, do you like it or not and what’s good about it/bad about it?….. I know, it’s a bit much of a brain drain for most of us, but give it a try….. eh?…..

I’m seeing Weldon this week so I’ll hear master for free. We are home boys and part of the Mean Gang…….tight. Will talk to him about some pirating ideas I have.
I’m waiting to hear how Weldon tweaked thing before I comment.

Anon, you do know that Jek is Vice-President of Too-Loose Productions and Lead Investigator of illegal pirating of TLP projects?….. He’ll want a HUGE cut of any illegally purloined proceeds obtained from the sale of bootlegged TLP products…. Not to mention my CUT….. You might be better off and be just as happy with the FREE copy we WERE going to give to you (Ha!)……

Want to reiterate, this is not close to a finished song. I am just trying to figure out how to break it to the vocalist, some of the vocals need to be re-done.
March 11th, 2014 at 7:58 pm
That’s what most bootlegs are – unfinished songs and alternate takes….. Raj is right, we’re not finished with this one – Besides being a rough mix, there are parts to be polished up a bit, along with some vocal redo’s…. I just wanted some feedback as to whether we were on the right track….. Boy, did I get some feedback!….. I guess it must be fairly good since we already have Anon pullin’ our leg on bootlegging it…. Good one, Anon (Ha!)……

Nice Doors-meets-Moody-Blues acid blues.

I hadn’t looked at from that perspective, but you’re right….. You didn’t actually come out and say it, but, I’m taking it as a compliment (Ha!)…. The song is off the “Free” album “Highway” with Paul Rodgers on vocals….. He did a later version on one of his solo albums, but, it just didn’t have any spirit in it – I think he was just going through the motions….. We put our mark on it (Which could be considered by some as a BIG mistake (Ha!)), but, stayed true to the vocals…. Ed did a great job, although, we may rework some of the vocals and other stuff – Like I said this is an unmastered rough mix done quickly by yours truly……

It didn’t quite register with me that this was a cover, but yes, I liked it. I’ll probably have some thoughts after I listen to it a few more times.

Thanks for the compliment, HS, and if you listen to the original, listen to “Free’s” version, although we did combine in some new licks found on Paul Rodger’s solo version…. Don’t forget, you’ve got an open invitation to jam anytime you’re in the OKC area…..
