Yep, the last Monday in January has been named “Bubble Wrap Day”…… Originally designed to be used as wallpaper, yes, wallpaper!….. Some of that late ’50’s futuristic look of the future due to the intense interest in space travel mixed the fear of nuclear Holocaust with the Cold War going on with Russia….. As we […]

Now that MR has an iPod, he needs a few podcasts to subscribe to. I imagine he’d want a blues one: a quick search turned up Murphy’s Saloon Blues Podcast. I have no idea if it is any good though. Here are some of the podcasts I listen to: Slice of SciFi Wait Wait… Don’t […]

New Star Trek

What’s your take on the new Trek? I liked it for the most part. Once you get over the few contrived bits necessary for the plot, it is a fun adventure. The soundtrack bugged me though. It tried so hard to not sound like a Star Trek movie and yet had the similar instrumentation to […]

Death by Misadventure…….

I know Sunn is our official MR Community Coroner, but I think you might find this all interesting….. I just finished re-reading all 56 Short stories and four novels of Sherlock Holmes…. Flip a Coin……

Well, Oklahoma City stole Seattle’s basketball team, and, now the State of Oklahoma is sending in ground troops in the form of OU football players and fanatic fans for an assault on the University of Washington’s stadium….. I heard they had orders to bring the stadium back with them!…… Rumors?…. Maybe….. With my Seattle connections, […]

Tarn and I saw Hamlet last night put on by Seattle’s Shakespeare in the Park Company, GreenStage. (If you’re ever in Seattle and want some Shakespeare action, they do a great job!) One thing that I realized a while ago when seeing Hamlet in Ashland, was the 1983 comedy movie Strange Brew was losely based-on […]
