It’s 0700am CDT Been up since 0500am CDT Can’t sleep the Cat is running laps over the bed, 2 days left on my vacation, and I’ve got a bunch of things rattling around in my extremely large yet under populated mind, so the coffee is on and the two other of you that still actively populate our little community on a regular basis will just have to suffer along, or scroll on past.

News of the Day:
Zimmerman Trial. Unless one has been on an extended trip to Jupiter and IO U know about the Trial going on down in Florida. In a nutshell, If George Zimmerman had listened to the 911 dispatcher and not pursued Travon Martin as he had been told there would never have been a struggle to defend himself from therefore, No confrontation, No struggle, No Self Defense, No Shots, on with all of our lives. He was profiling period, Neighborhood Watch means you sit around and wait for something to happen and call the cops when it does you don’t do anything unless you SEE A Crime being committed. Granted Travon overreacted when confronted, if he would have just explained calmly to Georgey that he was just walking home from the store maybe the media would be focusing on another story. Enough blame to go around but more Zimmerman than Martin.

Affordable Care Act or Obamacare. Does anyone actually understand the whole thing? I mean the “Big Picture”. Does my employer have to provide me with Health Insurance? or does the crap that they now offer suffice? Can I buy my own, and from where?, and how much? What happens to me if my employer offers me a Crap plan? What does it all pay for? I honestly don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. (on the whole Good Bad scale)

Speaking of the media. (just try to keep up) What ever happened to watching the news and just getting what happened? Without the news casters telling me how I’m supposed to think about a particular story. Just like Sgt. Joe Friday never actually said but has been quoted many years now “Just The Facts”.

And now the weather:
Yes it’s hot. How was that taste of Oklahoma up there in Seattle last week?. BUT., I will take the heat over 1-3 FEET of Snow. And Ice. I don’t care if I never have a White Christmas ever again. Remember I have to DRIVE in that crap. And what about the Wind? It seems that it has been windier the last 4 years than in the past. It used to be windy in the early spring and just before Winter (I know now that is redundant) but the rest of the year it was pretty much calm. seems like now I am fighting the wind every day everywhere.

And in Sports:
Seems like we are back to the future with our athletes. Football players arrested for Murder, Basketball players that can’t shut up, and cyclists that ride without a needle stuck in their Bum. Lance Armstrong said the other day that ” You can’t win the Tour De France with out Doping” No HE can’t. Someone is going to win. Maybe they won’t set a record while doing so but win they will. And in Boston, What did they expect when they drafted a Gang Member? A Bake Sale! As for the rest of Pro sports it’s become survival of the Richest. I’m all for making a good salary but why does someone who plays with a ball on Sat/Sun make more than someone who risks their lives each day (Police, Fire, Soldiers, etc.)

I realize that our Government is INCAPABLE of telling us the TRUTH but, not everything is a conspiracy. This is a subject that I have been interested in since the beginning 5 May 1993. I was actually in West Memphis, AR. and Memphis, TN exactly 7 days before the Murders and saw first hand what the atmosphere was like at that time. And Passing through many times in the ensuing years I have watched West Memphis grow from a Backwards, Dirty, lower middle class God fearing community into a cleaned up haven for panhandlers, prostitutes, Drug Dealers, and a place where I have to turn off my CB Radio when passing through because of all the racial fighting on it. With some of the worst roads in a state that once was known for it’s Bad Roads. But I Digress.

On 19 Aug 2011 Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley, Jr. entered what was called an “Alford Plea” where while maintaining their innocence they plead Guilty to the murders of Three eight-year-old boys—Steve Branch, Michael Moore, and Christopher Byers. Their sentences were changed to “Time served” and were released from the hell that is the Arkansas penal system and basically put on probation for 10 years.

These boys 18,17, and 16 years old at that time were convicted in 1994 and received Life sentences and Damien Received Death. Mainly because of a 1. Coerced Confession of a scared 17 yr. old Misskelly Jr. who had an IQ of 72 and functioned on a barely 5th grade level, and 2. the fact that they listened to Heavy Metal Music and dressed in black.

Now the report.
I have finished reading the Book “Devils Knot” by Mara Leveritt, a reporter in Arkansas and the only reporter in that state that thought something was “Fishy” about the whole case. I urge all of you to Pick up this book and read it cover to cover. then go to Amazon and order the DVD “Paradise Lost” Trilogy. If anyone thinks that our criminal justice system in this country is fine, these will make you sit back and say “how could that happen in our country”. From Incompetent Police work, Jury Misconduct, False Witnesses, and politicians and Judges who are only worried about the next election. That’s How. It also makes me wonder how many more persons are in the same situation in our prisons.

But read, watch, and then form your own conclusions. Justice was not served in this case and the Victims families deserve to know the truth, and those 3 boys (Now Young Men) deserve to be Exonerated and have all their Rights restored.

Yep, it’s the Weather again!…. Sorry….. My last post was on the 18th (Jek’s Birthday – Happy Birthday to you, Jek), the day before the deadly Tornadoes on the 19th and 20th…. The ones on the 19th were North and South of me…. I think they were “Bracketing” me in for the 20th!…. That one was less than 5 miles South of me, and, if it would have taken a small left hand turn North, I would have been directly in it’s path…. The problem is we have the SAME conditions for the next 3 1/2 days that spawned last week’s Tornadoes…. So, if I don’t post anything on Sunday, somebody check and see if I’m still around (Ha!)!…. The constant threat seems to be HAIL… It used to be the only way we got rain was with fast moving Thunderstorms – Wind, Rain, Thunder, Lightning…. Now, it seems EVERY Thunderstorm has HAIL in it, so, I’ve been running like a scared rabbit constantly to find shelter for my car…. As I said, this all started way back on March 30…. We were in an Extraordinary Drought – The worst you can have…. Now we are at over DOUBLE our yearly average of precipitation, within 5 inches of our yearly total and we’re not even halfway through the year!…. We’ve had at least one Severe Thunderstorm (2 to 3 some weeks) with Hail and Brimstone every week since March 30, cumulating into the Tornadoes last week, and it’s not letting up!…. I don’t want to wish these on any other parts of the World, but, I’m more than ready for all this to stop, so, if you know a Weather Spell or some VooDoo, bring it on, it would be most appreciated!…. Keeping a low profile with fingers crossed…..

I just finished reading Buddy Guy’s autobiography a while back….. If you’re interested the history of the Blues/Rock and Roll, this is a great read…. You’ll find that you will Love/Hate Leonard Chess, owner of Chess Records….. You’ll love him because there would be a large portion of the great Blues performers who would never have been recorded if not for him – Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Lightnin’ Slim, John Lee Hooker, Check Berry – all the great Chess performers…. On the other hand, yes, they did get some fame, but, because of Leonard’s greed, they didn’t make any fortunes…. Most of time they were paid a set fee for the recording session – That’s It – No Royalties – No Copyrights!…. He made sure he got ALL the rights to anything they recorded…. His son, Marshall Chess was a bit better….. He talks of the help the British groups gave to all the Blues artists by crediting them when they played one of their songs by urging the audience to go out and buy the original records and by having them as opening acts…. He especially credited Mick and Keith of The Stones….

Buddy also touches on how Jimi Hendrix borrowed a lot of his on-stage antics from him, which he had borrowed from Lightnin’ Slim….. Buddy would use a 150 foot guitar chord and start playing a set out in the street or alleyway and work his way to the stage through the audience, along with playing behind his back, between his legs, and with his teeth….. Remember, this was way before wireless guitar transmitter/receiver set-ups!…. It’s an informative read – Check it out!…..

…..doesn’t own an iPod – Never did – Never will….. He says the quality is too low…. Looks like he agrees with Neil Young, who actually has a high quality digital system that he is trying to promote to iTunes and all the other MP3 peddlers…. They don’t care, gets in the way of profits….. Keith listens to CD’s, Vinyl LP’s (they’re coming back), and the occasional cassette…. Yep!…. We’re great at new technology…. We can carry around 1,000 tunes in our pocket that we can select to listen to anytime or anyplace we want, all with the quality of a 1950’s broken portable 45rpm record player with a dull needle, damaged speaker, and a scratched record…. Sounds about right…. Welcome to the future of music……

… I am sick of hearing this phrase, to say the least….. It all started on March 30, with the picture above…. Since then, every week, during the middle part of the week, we have had the same thing – “Large Hail – Damaging Winds….”…. Argh!!!.. Last night was the worst, but almost the same as the one we had on Monday night (that’s TWO for this week!), and one the week before, and another the week before that!…. I was chased by this latest hail storm trying to get my car to a safe location…. I had been using the car wash located about a block away from my apartment, but, this time it was already full of cars, so I made a mad dash for my sister-in-law’s carport…. I got caught in a heavy downpour with hail on the way (No damage, luckily), managed to outrun it and barely make it to the carport before it really started to come down…. This is getting ridiculous!… We have broken rainfall and freezing low temperature records one after another for April…. It’s the same thing over and over again – We have a couple of days of temps in the high ’70’s, then a super cold front drops down, and bam! – “large Hail – Damaging Winds….” – then a couple of days in the ’30’s and 40’s – Then it all repeats again…. The forecast for the coning week is for a couple of days in the ’80’s, then on Wednesday BAM! – “Large Hail – Damaging Winds….” – Temps are to drop into the low ’30’s followed by a couple of days of cold weather… If I never hear that phrase again, it’ll be too soon, BUT, I’m sure I will…. We’re not even into the Thunderstorm/Tornado season yet!….. I think we’ve damaged the Planet beyond repair and now we are paying the price…

…….In a bad situation……  I’ve been watching the events unfold in Boston all day…..  Not long after they lifted the “Lock Down”, there were shots fired and lots of police and vehicles on the move immediately in a great rush……  Brian Williams of NBC was commenting that there were between 9 and 10 thousand officers on site…..  At that point, a white undercover car zooms past on the screen – He says, without breaking his pace, “And every Crown Victoria ever made”, then continues without any kind of pause in his commentary……  If you know anything about cars, especially police cars, you get the humor in his statement……  I know it is a serious and sad situation, but, that just stuck out and I had to laugh, and, YES, I do think humor belongs in the news as well as music….. (If you know anything about FZ, we’ll get that statement as well)……

….“Only in Oklahoma” as far as weird and strange weather events, but, now it looks like it’s happening everywhere…..  Right now, we are having thunderstorms with freezing rain, the temp’s around 30 degrees, and the wind is blowing anywhere from 30-50 mph…..  Nice way to start the day…. eh?…..  The deal is, until about 12 hours ago, we were in the high 70’s with sunshine and little wind….  That’s a drop of 50 degrees or so, and it is still dropping…..  On top of that, the freezing rain is not letting up, the temps are still falling, and, it looks like this could be a major late Winter Ice Storm event, which it is already anywhere west of the OKC Metro area…..

I do have a Weather question for our expert (Mr. HS)…..  The storms are moving on radar as they usually do in Oklahoma – from SW to NE – BUT, the surface winds are blowing 30-50 mph from the NNW to SSE…..  What’s the deal?…..  Inquiring Luby’s want to know……

This is a Good/Bad/Worse Question…..  Jek’s on vacation and there’s been problems with hackers on the server…..  So far as I can tell, there hasn’t been any problems with the Blog….  All the Spammers/Hackers attempts have been caught in moderation and dealt with appropriately.  S-o-o-o, if that statement is true, why are there no other Posts or Comments, except from yours truly, MR, appearing on the Blog?….  Did Everybody go on Vacation?….  If so, you FORGOT to invite me….. eh?….

How about, at a minimum, a Comment to the effect of “Yes, I’m still around, but, I’m (a) Too busy right now, (b) I’m bored with your lame Posts/Comments, (c) I can’t think of anything to Post/Comment, (d) My dog ate my Computer, (e) My Cat ate my Computer and my Dog ate my Cat, (f) I still can’t think of anything to Post/Comment, (g) I forgot how the English language works, (h) I broke both my hands saving a baby from a burning building, or (i) Why bother because the World’s going to end before I finish composing a really cool Post/Comment”.…  Just select the proper lower case letter that applies to your situation and send it……  PLEASE….

Here’s a little known fact I picked up while watching a retro TV station…..  The Three Stooges were the first comedy group to satirize Hitler in the 1930’s…..  In 1940, Hitler added The Three Stooges to his personal “Kill List”…..  It appears jokes can be Dangerous….  Better keep your April Fool’s Day pranks to a minimum!…..  Note:  The above is NOT an April Fool statement…..

I was beginning to worry about what had happened to our two semi-favorite Furbots…..  Apparently, they have been in England and have done something extraordinary for the Crown…..  They crawled their way in about 2:00 am this morning, wearing medals and sashes of honor…..  Whether they actually earned/deserved them is another matter entirely!…..  They demand that I address them as their “Lordships” and that I wait on them hand and foot…..  I’m about ready to give them the “Foot”, more commonly known as, “A Boot to the Head”……

They immediately started rummaging through all of my collectibles, stating that those “British Yo-Yo’s” are nuts about anything American that is collectible, and how they were going to make a fortune off of MY stuff…..  I had to remind their Lordships that it was MY STUFF – Told them to knock it off for now, as it was closing in on 3:00 am, and get their Royal Highness’s into bed and leave me alone….  They were still jabbering when I fell back to sleep…..  Something about using the Blog to sell MY STUFF to the MR Community under the name of, “Sirs PD Bob and Oscar’s Bargain Basement”…..  “Royalty Deals for Those in the Know – All the Cool Stuff you didn’t Know You Needed – UNTIL NOW!….
