Our mobile command post has just learned of the death of George Lindsey Better known as Goober Pyle star of the Andy Griffith show, Mayberry RFD, And cameo roles on Gomer Pyle USMC. He was also a regular on Hee Haw from 1969 until 1983. SALLLUTE!!

I can’t believe it!…..  I just got here seconds ago, and, it’s already time to start packing to leave!….  IT’S NOT FAIR….  …But, it’s been great!…..  Stuffed about two months of serious goofing-off into nine (9) days (minus two (2) days of travel time – Where’s Scotty and all that beaming technology we’re supposed to have had by now?)…..  I’ll probably need at least a couple of weeks just to recover when I get back to Oklahoma…..  Do I have to go back?…..  Haven’t I served my sentence yet?…..  Shouldn’t I get some extra time in Seattle for Good Behavior  (O.K., Fair Behavior)?…..  Yes, PD Bob, I’m am heading back soon, and, there WILL be a FORMAL INSPECTION and review of your actions, and that of your Brigade….  Better be very, very careful of what you document in the Official Reports…..  I Know you only too well….  See everybody soon…..

Already in the third day of my Seattle getaway!….  Going by – way, way too fast!…..  Already visited with Jimi – shot some video, checked-in with Anon, and lots of other fun stuff….  Going to hear some live music tonight, etc., etc…..  Working on a Jek ordained “MR To-Do List”…..  Nothing backbreaking, just some cool odds and ins that need the personal MR touch……  AND, YES, The Space Needle is on the schedule!…..  I’ll be selling mementos to any interested parties when I get back……  Got some Goofing-Off to do – Report in later!….  J.J./Robo – Check up on PD Bob – make sure he hasn’t blown anything or anybody up yet…..  Having a GREAT time – Everyone should have came along – You’re missing it (Ha!)…..  Again, it’s going by way too fast….

Boy, are you on my S-List!……  I have to hear on my local Oklahoma news that the 50th Anniversary of the Space Needle in Seattle was when?…..  YESTERDAY!…..  When do I arrive in Seattle?…..  THIS TUESDAY!….  Did I miss this event?…..  DUH!…..  I hope you like standing in the corner for a few hours, although, PD Bob had some much more creative ideas for punishment, but, the recovery time was unacceptable……

I’m sure it was considered as “just another day” with all the activities going on in Seattle all the time, but, I think it would have been really cool to have been present for this one…..  I still want to check it out and get a commemorative  button or something for the BIG EVENT that I MISSED by three days…..  I’m not really that MAD – Just jumped at the opportunity  to pick on the Seattle branch of the MR Community…..

Our mobile office has just been informed of the passing of Levon Helm. He was the lead singer and drummer for The Band. Born in Arkansas he was the only non canadian member of the band. Formed in 1958 as The Hawks, Backing singer Ronnie Hawkins, they went on to back Bob Dylan at Woodstock. as any musicians that backed Dylan were referred to as the band, They decided to take that name when preforming solo.

I guess I’ll have to fill in as the MR Coroner, as Sunn has disappeared from our Community and J.J. is out crossing the countryside somewhere…..  Dick Clark, The American icon of  “American Bandstand”, famous for introducing new music acts in the late ’50’s into the ’60’s on the new entertainment format known as “TV”…..  He also hosted the “Rockin’ in the New Year’s” celebration in New York starting in the late ’90’s, and except for a couple of years in the mid-2000’s when he had a heart attack, he did so up to and including 2012…..  He was 82 years old (I thought he had to be older than that, I mean I’d been hearing his name since I was a kid), and died of a heart attack on the 18th when he went in for some minor out-patient treatment in L.A.…..  See Ya hosting the New American Bandstand one of these days in the Other World…..  Goodbye, Mr. Clark……

Packing up and heading for Seattle to see how the MR Community there is doing……  Arriving late night on the 24th through the 2nd of May…..  Plan to mostly vacation and goof-off, and, get away from the dangerous weather we’ve been having here in Oklahoma…..  PD Bob is all bent out of shape as I have ordered him to stay here and start working on plans and construction of a new underground MR HQ with his Prairie Dog Brigade…..

I’ve already decided that if I stay in Oklahoma (also known as “Tornado Alley”), I’m going to start a petition that all new construction – Houses, Buildings, Malls, etc. be required by law to be built UNDERGROUND, with a retro clause that within 10 years or so, all structures, including the State Capitol, be underground……  The only thing allowed on the surface will be roads, then maybe the Tornadoes will lose interest!…. The cost, in the long run, couldn’t be much more than replacing everything every year…..  I heard on the news that this idiot, who has now had his home destroyed TWICE in the last five years, is going to REBUILD again on the same location!…  Take a hint, Dummy, Mother Nature does not want you there!….  Of course, It’ll never happen, People don’t do anything extra, unless they are forced to, even if it would save their lives!……  ….And the World turns, for a little while longer anyway…..

i-i-i-it’s the 13th!……  Most Friday the 13th’s have turned out to be above average in Good Luck for me…..  I’m expecting the same for today……  I don’t guess that it’s really a holiday, although, there is a huge percentage of people that consider it a perfect day for a party……  So-o-o, wear your Good Luck Charms and watch out for the Bozos…..

I thought maybe, just maybe, that Tornadoes and Heavy-Duty Thunderstorms would leave Oklahoma alone this year since they have been battering States and localities that very rarely get such things – BUT NO! – Yesterday we had Tornadoes in Western Oklahoma heading for “You-Know-Where” (MR HQ)……  Luckily, they turned South and didn’t get us……  Along with the Tornadoes, large areas received Nickel-sized to Grapefruit-size Hail – Over a quarter of a Million big bucks in damages…..  The only injuries were from Yo-Yo’s running out in the Hail to collect samples so they could send in pictures to the local TV stations – What Do-Heads!……  The 7-day forecast has high percentages every day for more of the same……  We need rain, but, Alas, in Oklahoma, about the only way you get it is in the middle of Severe Weather…..  No slow moving, gentle rains here…….

You’ll have to thank Anon for this one – Also address any Comments/Questions to him also…..  This is definitely what you would call a “Boy Toy”…..  I think the “Fairer” sex would have some problems with the design……  The questions I have are:  Is this for real?…..  Where can I buy one?…..  Just how do you “Finger” the notes? (I might not want to know that one, but, I would assume it would have something to do with the amount of pressure on the pads located in the bowl)…..  The picture isn’t clear enough to read the directions or what the digital readout is for……

A couple of observations:  I see a video camera in the upper left of the pic and some other device located on the upper right side of the “Guitar Pee”…..  I wonder – Do you get a video recording of you creating your “Wet Guitar Masterpiece”?…..  Where do I sign-up for one of them – Mornings are always my most creative time – wet or dry!……

Ok I stole the title from Roger Waters from the Wall. That’s what I do best.
Well has It finally happened, has our little community finally become a Ghost Town? Even our Illustrious Lord High Mayor Midnight Rambler Himself Has been MIA. PDB caught up with me in Texas the other day, he said “Whats Up J., Where have all the members gone?” With a small tear in his little eye. You ever see a Prairie Dog Cry?, Breaks your heart.
So I guess we have run our course, Maybe this blog Is not relevant anymore, Or maybe no one has anything to say anymore. I still do every now and then and I will keep saying it even if it is to myself. So I will be the lone hold out in our little town. I’m the guy that won’t move even though the Bulldozers are sitting at the door. HELL NO I WON’T GO, HELL NO I WON’T GO!!!!!!
Well it’s been fun conversing with all of you over the years, maybe I can interest some new people into joining me here.

1st. Who will come out of the GOP debauchle on top? I say ole Mitt himself. Not because I want him to, but because It’s already been decided. Yup the GOP machine has already decided the outcome, and all this Primary/Caucus BS is just to put on the Illusion that the political process is really still in our hands.
That being said. who do you think will come out on top in Nov?
What does Romney have to counter Obama with? I am pretty sure that Barack is gonna run on the Patriot ticket, ie: “I got Bin Laden, I got Qudafi, I got the troops out of Iraq.”
While the GOP is trying to run on the Back to the Future Ticket, ie: The America of 1950’s values and Morals is what you need.
I personally want Obama and his administration out of power. Not because of what they have done to the Economy but, What they have done to my industry. His Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, and his lackey Director of the FHWA Anne Ferro, have done everything they possibly can to see that the special interest groups have the final say in the trucking industry, and that we don’t know whats good for ourselves. They have made it extremely difficult to make a living in trucking anymore, and would like nothing better than us to be implanted with microchips detailing our every move and thought 24/7. And they want a “Master Race” of drivers, 5’10” 150 lbs 25 to 35 years of age, non smokers, who don’t listen to the radio, or talk on cell phones. Do nothing but Drive, sleep, Drive,Sleep, Go Home, Sleep. start over again.

I have just finished Listening to the audio version of this book. I must say I was under several misapprehensions about why the Smothers Brothers were Fired from CBS in 1969.
This book clears the air about what actually happened. After some research This book is found by me to be extremely factual. The author David Bianculli did his homework, he conducted extensive interviews with those involved that are still alive, got access to what were confidential memos and correspondence between the parties involved.
As most who were alive and paying attention during that time know that the Brothers were heavily censored during the run of their show from 1966 thru 1969, the censorship came from CBS Standards and Practices not the White House.
Now we all know that the “Decency Standards” come from so called Government Guidelines, thru the National Association Of Broadcasters or NAB, this is not a Government agency. It takes guidance from the Federal Communications Commission or FCC, there is only a small guideline that the FCC says that is not allowed on the commercial airwaves in the USA, Mainly the 7 dirty words ( See George Carlin).
I was always convinced that Nixon had the Brothers fired in 1969. The author states that “after extensive research and interviews I can find no evidence that Nixon was involved with the cancellation of the show.”
In fact the author states ” It is my opinion that in 1969 The Nixon White house was so busy with the transition after the Inauguration and with the escalation of the Vietnam War that the Smothers Brothers were the last thing on his mind“.
The CBS Standards and Practices or “Censors” were a bunch of insecure, snobby old farts that could not handle that someone had the guts to speak their mind week after week. Also they had their old fashioned ideas about what they wanted us to see on TV.
The network used a sneak attack, and used things that were never agreed to or even put in any contract, to cancel the show. Just 3 weeks after they re signed them for the ’69-’70 season, which Tommy Smothers used as the basis for his lawsuit against CBS which he won.
It was after the lawsuit was filed that Nixon became involved, when Tommy tried to file a suit against the Network based on “Denial of 1st Amendment Freedom of Speach rights” Nixon got the Justice Dept, J. Edgar Hoover, and what would eventually come to be known as the “Plumbers” of Watergate fame to work on The Brothers and the writers.
So as much as I hate Nixon and everything he stood for, In this case I have been blaming the wrong person.
I urge everyone to pick up this book, especially if like me, you are against Censorship, and are a fan of the Smothers Brothers. I am also going to buy both volumes of the DVDs of the Show.

Huskysooner covered the music now it’s time to say how you are going to listen to the music. J.J. has said a 8gb ipod nano. I’d like to know how he planes to recharge the batters. Maybe if you had only albums you could use a hand crank vicktrola with acostic horn for amplucation?  Just remember if you have to much stuff, we will ask. Why not use your stuff to get off the island?
