Our really stupid Government (aka Big Business) is in the process of deleting the United States Postal Service….. Â COME ON, the U.S.P.S. is an National Icon….. Â It’s been around almost as long as our country has….. Â I worked for the U.S.P.S. as a letter carrier for five years….. Â I learned one thing – It’s no cushy job – Everyone from the Postmaster down had to work their butts off to keep up……
A few facts: Â U.S.P.S. is one of the few Government agencies that is required to generate it’s own revenue to support itself….. Â The problem is they are so over-regulated by that same Government, that that’s impossible….. Â Big Business (UPS, Fed-Ex, etc) wants them out of business, and, stupid us, are letting them get away with it…..
They have already laid-off 150,000 Postal workers and plan to lay off an additional 250,000…. They are condensing down Post Offices and closing small Post Offices all across the Nation…. The ultimate plan is that YOU definitely will not get home delivery of your mail – You will have to go to the local grocery store or somewhere similar (sound like the 1800’s?) to get your mail….. That’s just what I want – A unskilled pimple-faced teenage stocker going through my Mail….. People have started protesting about Wall Street – Don’t Stop there – Let’s take our Country Back!…..
Just got unloaded in Spartanburg, SC now waiting on dispatch to send me the next load. Once upon a time they sent us a pre-plan, so we knew what was next, now not so often. So when I know I’ll put it up. Ever wake up with a song in your head? today’s is “Little Wing”, Derek and the Dominoes version. (MR, this would be a good place for the Terraplane version)
Everyone take a few moments out of your life to remember someone who gave something to everyone (if they were intelligent enough to comprehend)…..  That’s my opinion, and, to this day, I still miss him……  Happy Birthday, John – See Ya again someday….. How ’bout a little “Yer Blues” off the “White Album” from John…..  Give it a close listen……
Are you guys interested in a little travelog of one of my weeks? now that I can update daily, I can post a running post from the road. If so let me know. if not let me know.
You say it’s your Birthday….Dananana dada It’s My birthday Too yeah…..Dananana Bombobbob You say it’s your birthday…..Dadadadad dana Were gonna have a good time… Dadananana I’m glad it’s your birthday…..Happy Birthday to you.
Sorry I don’t have a mp3 of it on this computer.
Six Five years young. Gotta love it.
Here’s to sixty five more.
MR Addition:  I’ve heard you sing J.J., and, it’s not a pretty sight (figure that one out)…..  Here’s Birthday by “The Beatles” as it should be…..  And it was MY Birthday!………Yeah, Yeah, Yeah…..
Or more accurately, Time “Zip-a-de-do-dah’s” Away…… Â I could swear yesterday was the last day of August, and now, today, it’s almost the last day of September!….. Â Don’t ask me where the days went, I have no idea…… Â I did notice that we’re having a little cooler days, but, it’s still all sunshine and dead grass here….. Â You can’t even buy (or rent) a cloud, and, Rain has become just a word…. Â There’s no physical evidence that it exists….. Â Thank God for DVD’s, or I wouldn’t know what it looks like, and the word “Rain” would have no meaning whatsoever……
I thought I would throw in a audio clip for your enjoyment (or not)…..  This version of this song has been heard by only a handful of people since it was recorded live on May 30, 1974…..  The band was called “Wolfbrand Band” and, although I named it and was a member, we didn’t have what you would call a leader…..  It was just four young lost souls with very little equipment having a go at being musicians, and, as Maxwell Smart would say, “And Loving It”….  I think I had more fun in this band than any I was in…..  Without further ado – Time Fades Away – let me know what you think (That’s me (MR) on slide guitar and harp)…..  Enjoy (I Hope)……  Seems like it was only a couple of months ago, not decades, when we recorded that…..  I’d like to know who’s been stealin’ Time…..
I know it’s the talk of the world right now. So here’s the place for one stop shopping (Why? Because we are the best blog in the universe), Stories, quotes, where you were, anything about it. Put it here.
These words have taken over the land, and I am extremely tired of them.
I was going through my receipts for some tax stuff and I have noticed that 90% of the credit card/Cash register receipts have over half of the receipt about taking a Survey! Aren’t we supposed to be conserving paper? How about taking the money that corporations spend on surveys and pay the help better, Or better yet Wal-Mart Hire some more cashiers so I do not have to stand in line for 10 minutes to pay for a loaf of bread!
Friday August 19th 2011 I received some of the best news I could ever hope for.
A cause that has been close to my heart has had a positive turn. The West Memphis 3 has been released from prison in Arkansas after 18 years.
Thanks to the pressure from many people not just the celebrities that have picked up the cause as of late, But mostly Henry Rollins who has championed the cause for many years and through him I became aware of this case, These 3 boys have finally been able to breath free air.
Thanks to DNA testing the Ark Supreme court finally had to acknowledge that there was reasonable doubt of their guilt.

MR’s last post got me thinkin’ (I know, Scary Huh) Did you know that the Banjo solos and backing Vocals/Harmony’s on Neil Young’s Harvest Album were performed by James Taylor. That’s right, That’s Sweet Baby James pickin’ banjo on Old Man.
Just finished listening to “Fire and Rain” by James Taylor…… Â My mind wandered a bit and I started comparing the song’s title to our weather this Summer in Oklahoma…… Â The “Fire” part we have exceeded on all levels – Temp wise we tied the all-time record of days over 100Â (50 Days)Â Saturday, and since we still have plenty of HOT days left in the Season, I’m sure we will break it in the next day or two….. Â Wildfire wise – We’ve had ’em large and destructive everywhere mainly due to the fact the “Rain” part has come little and far between, and at an expensive price….. Â When you have temps in excess of 100 and a little moisture in the air, you get what’s called “Micro-Burst” or “Down Draft”thunderstorms that cause “Gust Fronts” up to and in excess of 100 MPH (F-1 Tornado level – only straight not twisty)…… Â JT didn’t include “Wind” in his song – He should have…… Â Example:Â A few weeks ago we got less than 1/4 inch of rain….. Â The Price of this precious little bit of moisture was 50,000 businesses and homes without electric- 100 year old trees uprooted – Damage/total destruction to houses, property, animals, vehicles, etc…. Â All for just a drop or two of rain that turned into a short “Steambath” the next day……
What does all this mean?…… Â Who knows?…… Â I don’t know which is gotten worse – The Weather or The Politicians.…. Â We need a change on both fronts or as they said in the ’50’s it’s time to, “Put your Head between your legs and Kiss Your Ass Goodbye“…… Â Maybe Chicken Little was right?……
No, the quiz isn’t about Columbo, it was in one of the Columbo episodes entitled, “Caution: Murder Can be Hazardous To Your health”….. Â In the episode, Columbo asks George Hamilton, who plays Wade Anders, a host on “Crime Alert” – one of those, “If you’ve seen this person and/or know their whereabouts, call and turn them in” type shows……
Here’s the set-up, Wade Anders is to be a presenter at an awards show – Columbo finds him as he is signing some autographs – Hamilton’s character Wade Anders states, “No business like show business, eh, Lieutenant?” Â Columbo replies, “Oh, you can say that again, sir. Â Talking about show business, do you know the first actress that was ever on a postage stamp?”
There’s your quiz, who was it?….. Â The answer has a familiar name associated with it for you Seattle-ites…… Â Sorry, no prizes for this one, but, let me know if anyone’s ready for a full-blown quiz-o session in the future……
That’s a lot of strings….. Â How would you like to be this guy’s roadie and have to change the strings on this monster guitar and keep the darn thing in tune…… Â I sometimes have problems keeping my 6-string guitar in tune, especially when I’m pushing and bending the strings a lot……
A friend of mine sent this to me, so, I don’t know if it’s making the rounds or not, but, if you haven’t seen it, check out the 27-String Guitar …….. Â If you’re really interested after seeing the video, here’s his website ….. Â Enjoy!…..
Well today an era comes to an end. Mrs. J.J. and Myself have officially retired the original Jojo mobile. As those of you who took place in the JoJo Fest in Ft. Worth, TX hosted by Lawman know the 1990 Dodge caravan that MR and Robo brought for transportation AKA the “JoJo Mobile” It was developing many mechanical problems. So Goodbye to a good vehicle.
