…..One of the “Coolest Cats” to ever roam The Great White North…… On 18JAN2011 we lost Rainy Cat to kidney disease…… This is more than an MRRC Report, as Rainy Cat was family…… She, along with her two (2) partners, Holstein the Cat and Gimli the Frog, controlled and ran the Jek/Tarn residence since their friendly takeover of the property by Rainy Cat and Gimli in the late ’90’s….. Holstein joined the power duo when Jek/Tarn moved to their present location in the early ’00’s…..

She trained her human protégées well, and in return let them take her for walks in the snow, watch her sit under the rosebushes on the sun deck, and would never leave a lap unwarmed….. She will be missed but never forgotten…… So-o-o, pour yourself a bowl of milk and grab one of your favorite treats and give one last toast to Rainy Cat – One of the Best from the Great Northwest……

RIP Rainy Cat (~1997-2011)

I just ran across the August 30, 2000 copy of the “Oklahoma Gazette” which had a large article on Norman (OK), 1970 with some photos….. One of them was the Jimi Hendrix poster for his May 8 concerts….. It was one of his last concerts before his death in September of ’70…… I didn’t make it to either of them, which, to me, is the concert that I regret missing more than any I can now think of, and I have always used the excuse that I didn’t hear about it until it was already over….

BUT, I have been doing a lot of brain digging and soul searching here lately, and, I have to admit at that time I wasn’t a big Hendrix fan….. That hurts just saying that…… I was into “Beatles” (they were in the process of breaking up) and “Stones” (Let It Bleed was going strong), and, in Oklahoma, Hendrix, Zappa, Alice Cooper, and groups in the “FAR OUT” zone didn’t get much airplay…..

So-o-o, I guess I’m admitting I’ve been fooling myself all these years, and just passed on seeing Jimi, thinking ah-h-h, if he’s any good he’ll be back sometime and I’ll catch his act then….. It just goes to show you that you never know…… A deeply missed opportunity indeed…. ” ‘Cuse Me While I Kiss The Sky“……

We have just learned of the passing of David Nelson. The youngest and last surviving son of Ozzie and Harriet Nelson Died on tuesday the 11th of January In Century City, Ca Of Colon Cancer.

This last week We had a bad health scare. I almost lost Mrs J.J.
She got real sick on the 8th and I had to race her to the ER. She has been in Critical care unit since. What started with a cold/Flu Morphed into almost a Diabetic Coma. The Docs at MWC Hospital said she was within hours of not making it. But with the hard work of a great team of Docs and Nurses Today she was fully alert and well on the road to a full recovery. To those of you who knew about this already we thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
To the rest of our tight knit community, Turn to that significant other beside you and tell them that you love them, Thank whatever higher power that you believe in and praise them, Do not take life for granted because it can turn bad and you can loose that which most important to you in the blink of an eye.
This has definitely reaffirmed our faith and we have pledged to worship better, take better care of our selves, and put our selves before that which is not that important.
Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers.

…If anything……  We got past 1111 (01-01-2011) without too much happening…..  Today is 11111 (01-11-2011)…..  Wonder if there is some great event or non-event supposed to happen??…..  Usually someone or some group has predicted Doom and Gloom occurrences with abnormal letter or number sequences (666, etc.)……

If nothing of significance happens today, we better batten down the hatches for 111111 (11-11-2011)….. Just maybe, since that’s Veteran’s Day, all the Veterans (like me) will win the Lottery!….. I could go for that……

It’s 2011!…….  NOW WHAT?…..

Do you know where your “Resolutions” are?……  Yeah, it’s time to make them again…..  I just refer to the same list I’ve had for years…..  I figure sooner or later I might actually complete one of them…..  Maybe I set my goals too high?….  Oh, Well, It’s all part of the Season……  I’ve also got to make a run to the store to get some Black-Eyed Peas….  Tradition in this part of the Country – Must eat Black-Eyed Peas on New Year’s Day for good luck…. Don’t know it’s history, but I have been doing it since childhood….  I must admit I don’t know how much Good Luck has come my way, but, there has been a few spectacular events that can only be attributed to “Luck”…..

Anyone else out there have any unusual New Year’s traditions?….. ‘Tis the time to bring them forth for all to hear….. Most interested in those that wart off “Evil” and bring “Wealth and Health” in abundance….. Yep, those are Good…..

Imagine a world without commercialism. Christmas would be much more like the ones I remember. Imagine a world with out hate. John Lennon would still be here. Imagine the songs he would have written by now. Just remembering 30 years ago today. John lives on in the memory of his fans. Long live the music.

We’re about to have our 3rd Annual Chili Cook-off at work and I was working on this year’s poster for our chili when I ran into a previous year’s poster. With all the Beatles/iTunes love, it seems appropriate. Hope you enjoy and get hungry!

How did it get to be Christmas time again this quick?……  Seems like I just finished shopping, making, buying, wrapping, and, sending off all of 2009’s Christmas stuff…..  Ar-r-r-gh!…..  Oh, well, time to slap on the “Happy Face” and do it all again…..  There’s even a slight chance of Snow here today…..  I know I’ve got to get it in gear in order to get it all done, So-o-o, Just a quick “Happy Holidays” from MR Central Headquarters, and add a few MR Posts and/or Comments to your Christmas List…..  HO-HO!…
